Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-18 · Somali Marine Trade
This Privacy Policy explains how Somali Marine Trade (SMT) collects, uses, and protects information on the SMT platform (somarinetrade.co). It is a template and must be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before production use.
Information we collect: account details (name, email, phone), business profile and verification documents, trade activity (RFQs, quotations, contracts, orders, invoices, payments, shipments), messages, and technical data (approximate location from account/business country — never inferred from IP for analytics).
How we use it: to operate the marketplace and trade workflows, verify businesses, process and record payments, provide support, secure the platform, and produce aggregate analytics. We do not sell personal data.
Financial and document privacy: buyers and suppliers see only their own financial records; verification documents and private messages are never exposed through search, analytics, exports, or public pages.
Your rights: you may request access, correction, or deletion of your data where legally permitted; some records are retained where required for legal, accounting, or audit purposes (see the Data Retention section).
Contact: privacy requests can be sent to the SMT support address configured for the platform.
This is a template policy and does not constitute legal advice. It must be reviewed and approved by qualified legal counsel before production use.
